I re-hauled the front page of the website for 2013 which means faster loading and the addition of some steel gauges which update themselves every 20 seconds. They look quite cool and work okay on mobile devices too; which is a bonus.

The downside is they cannot work with IE8 as it’s too antiquated to render them correctly.

We've always had an
astronomy page on the Duggleby Weather Station - it shows basic information about the moon and seasons. A couple of weeks ago I added a new page
HERE which shows a lot more detail including images from the Google Sunlight Map - a real-time image showing the sun position on earth from space. On 30th April I finally got round to adding my
Space Weather page.

This shows a lot of information on current solar conditions - including sun spot data and X-ray images of our sun. It's pretty amazing and contains data plus images from both the NOAA and NWS in the USA.

Great News !
The script to show our Weather Underground Data is now working again so I've put the page back on the website. Better still, we're now uploading Solar/UV information to Weather Underground.

We have 2 pages with our WU data on the website now. The graphs are
Here, and the tabular data is
Here.
Our data is fully downloadable in CSV format and uploaded to WU every few minutes 24/7.

Eagle eyed users will have noticed that the temperature and humidity readings have been way out recently. I thought this was due to a faulty sensor so I replaced it at a cost of £100 or so and it made no difference !

I have therefore ordered a replacement system today bringing the overall cost over recent weeks to nearly £1300 -
feel free to donate in order to help with this if you are at all able to do so.
The new system is a Davis Vantage Pro/2 FARS which has a 24 hour fan in order to ensure the highest levels of accuracy. ENJOY ;-)
Special thanks must go to Liz and those nice people at the
WeatherShop for being so helpful (and reducing the price for me) ;-0

It's official. The last 3 days have been the hottest 3 consecutive days this year :-

Also, 1st October was the second warmest day in 2011. Very unusual to say the least. But it's been a bit of an odd year all round. Very cold in January. Hardly and rain in Feb / March. A very wet Jun/Jul/Aug and very warm in September and, sofar, October.
Let's see what happens over the next few weeks. The snow started at the end of November in 2010 and didn't fully clear until January.
